240752 2004-06-01 05:45:00 Chill - have you already got the video captured to MPEG or AVI and just want to now transfer this onto DVD in a DVD-player compatible format?

If so, give me an email. As mentioned above, we keep review software so I could do it for you if you want.

240753 2004-06-01 05:57:00 Use Media Player classic to capture the video.
sourceforge.net

You can use Nero6 to make the DVD, or look on sourceforge for Linux encoders.

240754 2004-06-01 05:58:00 I cant remember it coming with anything other than Drivers, Adobe Reader, and OpenOffice... I've lost the CD-Rom sadly :-(

Linux I can use, but not for Capture because I've only got Capturing setup in Doze.. Im yet to get the kernel module for the saa7134 chipset. So Doze for Capture and Burning, Linux for burning only.

240756 2004-06-01 06:02:00 Chilli,

Didn't you get one of those optiwrite dvd burners?

They are bundled with sonic, they will encode and author avi to dvd, granted the program is considered quite poor but will do the job.

For capturing, there is plenty available, its a matter of getting one that will recorgnise your card.

www.dvdrhelp.com still has the best database of programs.

Hi Chill,

I have the same DSE XH6765 card, it comes with the LifeView software for Windows which can capture the video in AVI, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, VCD and SVCD. You can grab a copy of the CD from me if you wish. I can email you the pdf manual (3.9 MB) now so that you can see whether this will be suitable for you purpose.

240758 2004-06-01 07:00:00 Hi Chill
This is probably overkill as you have lots of very capable people helping because you are such a marvellous guy - anyway here is my little contribution - this thread did give some insight into going from VHS to DVD (it is Greek to me - but so are lots of things) -

Good luck to you !!
