240684 2004-05-31 09:43:00 Operating system 98 SE.. Word 97 Maximise window,

For some reason the Status bar at the bottom of the “ Word 97 Window” the bar that shows :- Page No, Section No. At so many Centimetres down the page, line number, Column Number, Number Lock, Over write/insert key. has vanished

When the “Word Window” is maximised the “corrugations” that should disappear at the bottom right hand corner of the window don’t.
It is possible to by dragging the “corrugations” to manipulate the size of the window.

When the window is “Restored the “corrugations” show as they should
When the window is maximised the “corrugations” are still there

Is the PRESS F1 Teem able to solve this problem?

Go to View, and see if there is a "Status Bar" option there. I don't have Word97 handy to give you the exact location at the moment, but someone else should do.

The corrugations stay there so you can resize the window from there. As soon as you do, the window will go into the "non-maximised" state.

The status bar can be toggled on or off by selecting tools/Options /view and clicking the appropriate option box on the View card.
