240577 2004-05-31 02:56:00 Does anyone know where you can purchase the plastic sleeves for CD/DVD’s (similar to those that the freebie disk in PCWorld comes in)? Have tried all the obvious choices – CD shops, DSE, Warehouse etc – just look get blank looks!
Thanks

240581 2004-06-01 02:51:00 I buy mine from "De France Productions" in Auckland... they have a thin film in the middle of the plastic sleeve which is supposed to protect the disc from scratches.

Pack of 100 costs $40 I think from memory.

They aren't just the plastic sleeves, there's some fibrous slip in the middle... if it were just plastic sleeves, you would find in time that the plastic would stick to one side damaging the reading surface and potentially damaging the CD itself!

Mind you, I was very particular in terms of how I wanted to store the discs... The best way to do it, IMO, would be to go to a music store, get the paper sleeves and put the CD's into those paper sleeves, and then into the plain plastic sleeves.

Woooah. Paper sleeves. No no no. Fine particles of paper will stick in the grooves and then the pickup needle will have a really rough trip. Bad Karma man. :D
