240941 2004-06-01 08:51:00 Hey there...

I remember in knoppix (which i learnt a bit on, then i realised it sucked at everything and broke all the time...) that i could use Kpackage. I also remeber that when installed things, the entries would come up in the menu.

In fedora they don't. I cant reinstall something cause it tells me that they are already installed, and I have no idea where to find the executable files from, and they aint on the handy dandy menu. (What do people in linux call it?)

Where are they?

I used RPMs...

240942 2004-06-01 09:06:00 Kpackage has long been dis-continued....

Its been replaced by kynaptic by and large.

I know you can use kynaptic in Ark Linux.. Havent seen it anywhere else though.

Hope this puts you on the right track

Chill.

240943 2004-06-01 09:07:00 What program did you install? They should be found on the menu. Are you using Gnome or KDE and what version of Fedora?

RPM's should add an entry to the menu, but you can add this yourself manually. Most executables go into /usr

If you enter into a console window this should list the directories where files are located.
