In New Zealand we don't actually have a Human Rights Act as such yet.

There will not be as there is not a Human Rights Act in New Zealand. YET!!

You may have rights under other legislation though.
You may also submit your thoughts to "The Human Rights Commission" as well.

240987 2004-06-01 11:38:00 Hi Chris,

Yes you are quite correct, there definitely is an Human Rights Act (Human Rights Act 1993, and several amendments in fact).

Go here click on the + next to H and scroll down to "Human Rights Act 1993" and the act will load in the right-hand pane.

240989 2004-06-01 11:46:00 awesome guys thanks for the answers :D

and to put in a claim that breaches the Act, I just have to contact the Human Rights Commission and they will give me info on what to do to present a case? is that correct?

240990 2004-06-01 22:15:00 Yes, the Commissioner is the person you complain to for an alleged breach of human rights in NZ. Apart from that there is always the United Nations. Winston001 (3612)
