241629 2004-06-04 07:33:00 I recently changed from IE to Netscape. But there is one real problem: Netscape slows down surfing on the internet heaps. I am on ADSL and the connect icon still shows a speed of 6.2 Mbps. But the time to build up the website on the screen is like being on a dial-up connection.
Any suggestions how I can speed Netscape up to the IE level????

241630 2004-06-04 07:47:00 welcome to pressf1 :)

I find if I use any browser other than IE, it takes forever to load, and noticebly longer to load pages. I just use IE, and with all the right patches, it's fast and stable.

But, if you really want to use Netscape, I suggest you google for "Netscape speed tweaks"

241631 2004-06-04 07:48:00 There shouldn't be much noticable difference between them.

What version of netscape are you using?

What are your system specs (how much RAM, how fast is the CPU, etc)?

If its an older system you may find opera or firefox (made by the same people as netscape) faster.

241632 2004-06-04 07:50:00 I agree. Netscape seems to take forever to load. I have given up and gone back to IE Baldy (26)

241635 2004-06-04 08:53:00 From version 4 onwards Netscape, compared to IE, seemed to go downhill, or should that be uphill? Terry Porritt (14)
241636 2004-06-04 08:55:00 I use Firefox myself and the speed seems fine to me. SKT174 (1319)
241637 2004-06-06 03:04:00 Opera is faster than both, K-Meleon and firebird are not too bad either kiwibeat (304)
241638 2004-06-06 09:33:00 That's weird. In my circumstances Netscape (7.02) is wayyyy quicker than IE Greg S (201)
