Just to put the record straight for those who may get confused, Spybot and Adaware cannot detect and/or fix trojans. Trojans are not spyware. An antivirus will detect many but only a specialised trojan detecter program can detect and deal with the majority of them. ;-) |

| 241546 | 2004-06-04 09:40:00 | Hi, I may have read his post wrong but part of his problem is that for some reason he is getting another www added to his address that he types in, eg www.www.somethingwebsite.com.com This is not by typing somethingwebsite and pressing ctrl+enter in IE. I saw this address a few times on a friends computer as I was trying to suss out a few other problems and at first thought it was me but it kept occurring fairly regularly (but not always). I ran spybot and adaware and this particular problem went away. I am guessing that BrucieBear is getting an address similar - I might have guessed wrong. |
