241443 2004-06-03 22:35:00 i am having more problems with my computer. I cannot run any games, when i start the game it comes up with an error like, cannot use directx, please reinstall directx or check that your display drivers are correct.
I have tryed reinstalling directx agian, and even downloaded it from net (got latest version), i no that the display drivers work as they are the same ones i was using before it screwed up. But in case it was the drivers i tried the latest version, but they still didn't work. I ran C:\program files\directx\dxdiag.exe and tested drectxdraw and that was fine but when i tested directx3d it came up with errors. If it would help I could post what the errors were, but not right now as i am in school at the moment.

241446 2004-06-03 23:14:00 oh,That stops my train of thought dead in its tracks then,...

Have you tried a complete and proper removal of the video card drivers, and then re-installing a set that have been cleared by MS(can never remember what they are called, but there are plenty of unsigned nVidia drivers doing the rounds)

241447 2004-06-03 23:58:00 ok i'll try that 2nite theseus (4158)
241448 2004-06-04 01:14:00 Try removing DirectX using a removal tool(I used "DirectX Eradicator") and the card and do a fresh install of both. Befor uninstalling the card make sure you remove the drivers in control panel and if able reset it to a generic MS driver.

I had a similiar problem which actually tracked back to a faulty motherboard (not the news you wanted to hear but check into it) having problems with the graphics card.

241450 2004-06-04 03:34:00 Of course it does,Thats why you haven't made a thread saying your having issues...

Besides,i doubt it is the card but rather software issues.
