241355 2004-06-03 05:49:00 Hi

My friend gave me his laptop to look after for a few months, it's a Sony Vaio, Pentium 3, 196mb ram and 30gb hard-drive.

But there is something wrong with the video display, it can only display 16 colours, there's no higher option, so the screen looks pretty bad.

How do I fix this, is a driver I need to install?

Thanks

241356 2004-06-03 06:55:00 Yrs you will need to reinstall the video driver.
If you are not sure where to find it post back with make & model & OS.

241359 2004-06-03 08:51:00 Hi
Is the Vaio set at the default resolution?
Mine would do odd things at some of the other available resolutions. There should be a full set of useable drivers with the set-up disks.

241361 2004-06-07 03:47:00 Hi, I went on the site you gave me but they don't have the model of the laptop, the model is PCG-9241, any idea of where I could find the video driver for that model? I tried google, it came up with few results.

Thanks

241362 2004-06-07 04:13:00 The model is probably known by another description, the PCG 9241 may be a secondary descriptor.

Is it a PCG F540? That number seems to accompany the PCG 9241 in a websearch.

Drivers for video are available for that model.
