241825 2004-06-04 10:37:00 Can someone outline the main differences between xp home and pro please. Am still stuck in win98 world but the laptop I am looking at comes with xp home and I've been given the option to go to pro for a few hundred more bucks, is it worth it? Using computer for work (accounts software, word, excell an email)

Cheers

241826 2004-06-04 10:43:00 Not worth it iif the computer is to be used by a single user.

And ms have a page that outlines the differences.

And you will find that most mis-guided souls that claim Pro is a must have don't even use the features(nor understand them)

241829 2004-06-04 11:35:00 The main difference is that while XP Home is capable of peer to peer networking, it is not capable of connecting to a Windows domain as XP Pro is. JohnD (509)
