241888 2004-06-15 07:03:00 Uh Baldy, it wasn't addressed to you, it was an exlamation - laughing at my own stupidity. Let's not have a repeat of the last post, shall we? :p Growly (6)
241889 2004-06-15 07:08:00 Makes me wonder why the BIOS needed re-setting in the first place....

Come on, what did you do to it??? :p LOL

241890 2004-06-15 07:20:00 I swear, it was that Hyena power supply - I put it in, turned it on... blue lights when red and flickered... i heard a "Bang", and then smoke started coming out...

I thought "meh", and kept going.

Then it happened.

Growly, I just realised this when I was driving home. On new motherboards you don't need to remove the battery. There is a jumper on them where you can reset the BIOS.

241895 2004-06-16 07:12:00 Ofcourse I'm still getting it!

But the version next year... I'll buy the ASUS in the meantime. I don't think my board had that reset pin man...

241896 2004-06-16 07:13:00 OMG You're right...

Now I know why I didn't think of it, I was wondering what relevance the CMOS has to the system responding to the Power button... I thought that was pretty low level...
Growly (6)
241897 2004-06-16 07:39:00 Uh huh! getting power to the system is almost as low level as you can get, maybe the cmos battery and what it drives could be considered lower.

Nice to see it's sorted. Asus' rep remains unsullied :)
