| 243178 | 2004-06-09 23:15:00 | My PC has started to ask which operating programme I want to load at start up. My choice is WIN XP (Boot screen) or WIN XP. How can I get rid of this? | Jackiex (4951) | ||
| 243179 | 2004-06-09 23:35:00 | On your c: drive (in the root folder c:\) you will find a (hidden) file called boot.ini. Create a copy of boot.ini! If you then open the boot.ini file with notepad (or similar) you should see a section headed [operating systems]. There will be 2 lines there - that is why the system prompts you to select one at startup. You need to delete one of those lines. Save and restart. Any problems, copy back the original and try again.
