1364134 2014-01-01 23:21:00 Whilst running Firefox go to the Help menu next to the Tools menu and choose "Restart With Add-ons Disabled".

Do that and how does PressF1 look with add-ons disabled?

1364135 2014-01-02 00:19:00 You're a miracle man zqwerty. Thank you! That worked like a charm. So the problem was one or more of the add-ons? The next step would be to enable all the add-ons again, then disable them all in the add-ons panel and add them back one by one? braindead (1685)
1364136 2014-01-02 00:21:00 Wow! All my message tools are back again as well. Brilliant. braindead (1685)

YES do that to find the offending add-on.

My money is on Adblockplus or Noscript, you can individually disable them and instead of Adblockplus try this, it does the same sort of thing, faster and simpler:

addons.mozilla.org

Just install it and keep Adblockplus disabled whilst you try it out.

1364138 2014-01-02 00:39:00 AdBlock Plus was the problem extension.

It not only nuked the PCWorld forums in Firefox, but also caused the login redirect to hang, post formatting to fail and forum message tools to vanish.

Thanks so much man!

1364139 2014-01-02 00:43:00 You've probably inadvertently added something to the filters in Adblockplus, which would be easy enough to find, but for the moment why not try bluhell-firewall add-on instead.

Adblockplus definitely doesn't do anything bad to the layout of the forum as a native instal.

1364140 2014-01-02 00:53:00 This is just like Christmas zqwerty :) Bluhell is installed and works well. braindead (1685)
1364141 2014-01-02 22:24:00 I agree with zqwerty, sounds like your Adblockplus is\was misconfigured.

You may also have some issue if you were running some old Stylish script for the site.
