1363949 2013-12-31 02:16:00 I am looking at the PB Technology store web site in Wellington and have a couple of deals that look good that i would like some advice on please (see links below)

I am after a function laptop, i can use for work occasionally (mostly use my ipad for travelling), working at my kitchen table on VPN / Terminal server and to run basic programmes to use in my table top RPG group. (to run office etc).

1363950 2013-12-31 04:22:00 The Tosh is more powerful, and I prefer Tosh over ASUS, however not sure on 21:9 resolutions screens...good for excel I guess. SolMiester (139)

What about this, most lappys this price have i3s or Pentium/Celrons.

1363952 2014-01-02 03:20:00 stay away from acer.
Even if it's a throwabout laptop, make acer your last choice after not getting one at all.

For those you listed, I hear Asus has better reliability but ultra books could be quite handy and portable.

Also if you do go for a windows 8 computer, try to get a touchscreen one.

1363954 2014-01-03 06:40:00 Just to upset you, I buy all my computer gear online - and have used an Acer that has never missed a beat in 4 years. EFFIGY (12530)
1363955 2014-01-03 10:38:00 I had an Asus PC for about 6 years and just recently died after 8 years of use.
I also have an Asus Laptop, Asus motherboard too and it never failed me.

I think it's hard to find Windows 7 these days but I could be wrong
