1363827 2013-12-29 06:36:00 Why do they want a WiFi extend? What's in the way? What's the scenario? Chilling_Silence (9)

The rooms at the back of the house has a weak signal. Just an easy to use one, they are not that IT literate with the sophisticated firmwares. :)

1363829 2013-12-29 08:54:00 I've had good results with a TP-Link extender on an ethernet cable. More reliable than trying to receive and retransmit by wireless and it's easy to run a cable under the floor or through the ceiling space. The extender is in a cupboard at the other end of the house. coldot (6847)

1363831 2013-12-29 09:45:00 Cheers guys. I don't think their house is cabled up ... with Cat5/6 being non IT people I don't think they would look at it either. Yeah I gather they want WiFi for their laptops/PC and phones. Nomad (952)

1363833 2014-01-03 03:24:00 Ok guys I know that the TP Link network switches are decent products, what do you suggest as a WiFi extender to plug into a RJ45 outlet and to extend wireless to the back of the house?

They have at least 4 RJ45s in the house wired up already.

1363834 2014-01-03 06:37:00 Netgear WN****RPT series.
I have used a WN2000RPT for over two years teamed with a Netcomm Nb604n, it gives an extra 10m range just fine.
However.... if you have a Vodafone Router don't bother trying an extender, nothing but grief!

1363835 2014-01-03 06:52:00 That one is wireless right meaning it grabs it wirelessly and broadcast it wirelessly.

Can one buy anothe router and connect it up like that, or is that a WAP or ...
