| 1342718 | 2013-05-23 00:46:00 | Hi All. Wanganui Council has sold Energy Direct to, I think Trustpower. So I imagine prices will go up. Is there a website that compres prices of all retailers? I have Googled but found that confusing. Thanks. PJ |

| 1342721 | 2013-05-23 01:00:00 | Generally, switching is a waste of time. You may think you are saving a few dollars a month, because that's all it amounts to, but the suppliers are always changing position, and this month's cheapest is next month's dearest. They are a cunning pack of bastards. | Richard (739) | ||
| 1342722 | 2013-05-23 01:10:00 | not to mention undisclosed bonds which you discover once you get your bill which genesis refused to waive. unswitching is relatively painless minus the hassle of being refunded what you had paid to the switched to power provider. nikola tesla would be rolling in his grave. where is our free wireless power??? |

If the quote looks better than you are currrently paying - tell your present company you've had a better offer and see if they can find any additional discount to bring your bills down. And to get the best figures from PowerSwitch add up your whole past year's totals and enter that with the 12 month dates. A quote based on past month can be misleading. |

| 1342725 | 2013-05-23 05:33:00 | The best thing to save money on elec trickery is to abandon the stupid KWH basis for charging. Those are only useful for electric shavers; even your ma-in-law can get a lot of shaves out of a KWH. For hot water they are pathetic, even if you are lucky enough to get geothermal or toasty warm coal fired power, your KWH wont give you a very full tub, and obviously if it is some of that slightly melted glacier water those South Islanders squeeze their power out of you are in for an icy bath. Buy your power by the ton! You can get heaps of heat out of a tun of Electrons. By the way, don't forget to measure the power you return to your supplier too. Many people are unaware that they return almost as many electrons as they use. Fair is fair, and credit where credit is due, they should actually pay you a little more for the power you return because your appliances strip out all the bird droppings that have been picked up between the power station and your place. If you have any trouble getting the powers that be, take in some of your used electrons and throw them on the supplier's counter - no sh**. :groan: |

| 1342726 | 2013-05-23 06:08:00 | You may save a few dollars by switching to another power supplier, but in six months they will put their prices up! The huge rise of our power prices over the last 20 years needs to be investigated. How much is wasted on huge salaries, duplication etc. But don't forget transpower has to spend a lot upgrading our old transmission lines. |

They are a cunning pack of bastards. This is not true. We switched last year, apparently we are now saving over a hundred a month. |
