How old is the imac, if you dont know I can tell from the specs if you know them. If this fails I can upload a disk image of snow leopard and if the imac is new enough it should upgrade to mavericks for free. |

Macintosh HD (empty) Network OS X BASE System has some folders in it but installing maverick is grey Recovery HD icon which has a recovery boot folder but everything in there is grey |
