1342507 2013-05-22 07:12:00 May be a killer if some people have to purchase all new games. Mind you gamers have deep pockets don't they :pdont know not a gamer. But as a parent I have deep pockets ;) plod (107)
1342508 2013-05-22 07:35:00 If you buy M$ it is rather like Apple in that you know you're going to get con'd - the question is just how savagely will you get fiscally thrashed? These aficionados keep hoping this time they will at least have enough to live on, but game machines are like slot machines in their capacity for compassion. Nah, I probably won't be bulk buying. ;) R2x1 (4628)
1342509 2013-05-22 09:33:00 From reading another news group it appears you can't play a game unless you have an internet connection. There goes taking it to your holiday home and playing games over the wet summer.. paulw (1826)
1342510 2013-05-22 09:57:00 you can play it without a internet connection GameJunkie (72)
1342511 2013-05-22 10:07:00 You're both right :p

Developers have the option of requiring an always-on connection, but the console itself doesn't require this.

1342512 2013-05-22 10:48:00 what i dont like is that if i buy Forza 5, i can install it an play on my account. my brother can play it using his account on the same console, if i read it correctly.

But, if i sold it to my friend who live next door, he/she will have to pay a fee to be able to play the game on their console, i hear this price would be the MSRP price

I think this will be a sticking point for some, because if i brought the game for say $95, i sell it for $60 sometime later, the person who brought it would have to pay the $95 to be able to play it on their console.

This may scare some people off

1342513 2013-05-22 10:54:00 I was actually impressed with the Call of Duty demo, which was surprising to me seeing as it's a franchise I have had nothing nice to say about since COD4. I do however feel that the ps4 brings more to the table. Most of the new features the one offered seemed to be gimmicky or very region dependent (who in NZ watches NFL). The PS4 actually seemed to offer social features I could see myself using. icow (15313)
1342514 2013-05-22 11:58:00 That rumour of only online gaming has been discounted.

ooops bit late, but I read that MS had specifically said it was not so.

I assume the 360 games will not be re-released, so I expect people will keep their 360 for their old games.

1342516 2013-05-22 13:22:00 i expect microsoft to be selling xbox360 for many years to come. it has a lot of life left in it, another revision is more than possible, something slim ps2 sized.

just like sony will be selling ps3 long into this decade, sony might not cease production till 2020, no reason microsoft wouldnt keep manufacturing xbox360 till atleast 2017.
