He disbanded the party when he got what he wanted . An unregulated economy so he could make lots of money. There were quite a few voters I new at the time who were pissed off with him afterwards over it.... |

But you have to be showing that your doing something about defense or people won't come and help you when someone invades.. maybe we should become a state of Australia and then they can come to our aid.. |

No country will go to war just to help out NZ. Will never happen. Look at recent history. They will happily sell NZ all the guns & ammo we want though Now if we had heaps of oil, that would be a different story. Perhaps we need to develop a butter & lamb powered car just to make NZ commodities worth going to war for. |

In the main, those who were pissed off were those who didn't really see it was all about tactics and splitting the vote was the means to the end. Consequently, there were bruised egos and general embarrassment amongst those NZP supporters who nurtured dreams of rising to power and glory in a new political force (their availability probably due to that both Nats and Labour didn't want them anyhow). |

We need an armed services in New Zealand in case there is any insurrection caused by certain people trying to change the way of life of the majority here. The thing is to look back at history like the American and Spanish civil wars and learn lessons.
