1343438 2013-05-27 10:53:00 Oh and I've just noticed that chatf1.net.nz is available again (and co.nz)
I've grabbed (1 month registration) them incase they're wanted :)

To think I've been planning to come back and start posting, and now it's going away :(

1343439 2013-05-27 10:55:00 Should grab PressF2.co.nz :p

(and yes I understand where the name PressF1 has come from...and that PF2 is in no way relevant)

1343441 2013-05-27 10:58:00 Sorry goodiesguy but your forum hurts my eyes :(
What's the host like you're on? Looks like a free one?

Yeah, just a free one. I am trying to work on getting a better color scheme too.

Ooh you're in Dunedin too!

Something like phpBB on a real server might be nicer... Free sites tend to vanish without warning

Yeah, well if anyone's got a better forum or something, i'm all for it. I'm just offering my forum for a place to go after F1 goes down.

1343444 2013-05-27 11:03:00 I might fire something up using chatf1.net.nz. Seems appropriate.. Dannz (1668)
1343445 2013-05-27 11:11:00 A pity. I have just renewed my PC World subscription. You and me both, just renewed my sub for 2 years last week, seriously thinking about cancelling it and asking for my money back now though...

Plod, domain name is about $30 per year, something I am happy to pay for, we can use phpbb (www.phpbb.com) or similar initially and then setup a vbulletin at a later time (as it costs about $250 USD), my only concern is hosting, I can get pretty cheap but reliable hosting in the US (with unlimited space although MySQL space might not be) but it has limited bandwidth - 3Gb per month, and that I fear is going to last about a day.

Making money from it would not particularly interest me as I see it as a service, but Im not in any position to fork out heaps - I think I'll fire an email to my host and get an idea on costs.

Dan, just caught your post, yes, very interested in what you can do in the hosting, whats your monthly bandwidth limit, space available etc - PM me if you like.

As for domain names, there is a few available at this time

pcchat.co.nz
pressf1help.co.nz
pcfixed.co.nz

wide open to more suggestions

1343446 2013-05-27 11:13:00 On the subject of my forum, i've just added another color scheme called neon blue (which hopefully users can change within their settings, but will set it as default for the next half hour or so while I try some other ones. goodiesguy (15316)
1343447 2013-05-27 11:16:00 Just sent Iantech for a PM. Watch this space! Dannz (1668)
