1363891 2013-12-30 05:59:00 Hi ive got a p8p67 mobo and im wondering if can use unsupported cpu to update bios plantsvszoom (17215)
1363892 2013-12-30 06:39:00 yes but with varying success. Some unsupported cpus will work well enough to get you into bios where it might say its a different cpu but you can continue to flash it, since im assuming your wanting to use an ivy bridge cpu this may work as I have heard of quite a few people having success, although personally I would rather pick up a sandy bridge processor and save a few bucks whilst having pretty comparable performance. Otherwise you're best off asking your local tech shops to see if they have the equipment to do it for you. If this also proves fruitless then your best bet is to buy the cheapest cpu that is supported by the mobo.

In the past I was able to contact asus and have them send me a replacement bios chip that had the latest bios on it, but this was with a mobo that had a removable chip which I believe yours does not.
