I have elected to take up the kind offer of PCW to transfer Monday Laughs to PF1, but next Monday (weather permitting) I will be in Dunedin celebrating a 'cough' significant birthday.

I would like to make the first post of the new era myself, rather than leave it to my loyal lieutenants, so next Monday is hereby declared an official day of mourning for the sad demise of PCW Chat and you can all celebrate its passing in your own way and in the privacy of your own home, cell, refuge, bar, bordello or bat-cave, as the case may be.

I have taken a short stroll down memory lane and reviewed the early days of Monday Laughs, which initially consisted of just a single joke, and that ran concurrently with my Friday posting of WFTWE* for quite some time. Every week in WFTWE there were some magic exchanges with members, all centred around that single word and I'd forgotten how much fun it was.

*Word For The Week End (200 consecutive editions)

It has been an absolute privilege to interact with so many people via those two serial postings, and for as long as Press F1 survives, I will endeavour to maintain Monday Laughs.
If PF1 fades, and an alternative site is established in due course, I would continue there, but a handover is inevitable at some stage soon.

I must also thank those who have kindly agreed to stand in for me when my work took me overseas or otherwise away from my computer.
In earlier days Susan B took up the challenge and in recent times WalOne and R2x1 have done sterling duty, and KenESsmith has also been a long standing contributor
of excellent material. There may have been one or two others in the past as well, but I can no longer recall them. Please consider yourselves thanked regardless.

Cheers and thanks for reading

Billy

I'll leave the last word to KenESmith................

Final thought for a joke:

Two Irishmen were in a Bar and discussing families .
One says "my wife is an angel!"
Wereupon, his drinking mate replies:
"You're lucky, mine's still alive."

You are a gentleman and a scholar and would love to shout you a beer if i ever meet you face to face, and if the missus will let you.

Bugger!

I was at a loose end for an evening in Hawera early March, and that is but a hop skip and slither away from NP. I may yet be back, I'm not sure whether the Plant issues I was looking into are fully resolved. Best of all, Mrs T has no input on my recreational time when out of town, but in truth it usually consists of a quick meal, boring TV and an early night!

Never fear, by official dispensation, Monday Laughs will continue for the foreseeable future on Press F1.

Cheers

1343772 2013-05-28 07:58:00 Hey Billy,

I don't think all that many followers of your Monday Laughs would have even guessed the amount of time you put into bringing us those weekly gems.

I'd like to place on record on behalf of this community our thanks.

Cheers

:)

1343773 2013-05-28 08:02:00 I will be in Dunedin celebrating a 'cough' significant birthday.

Firstly, good to see you coming to a real mans' town ... don't forget your long johns and plenty of clothes ... -2°C and around 100mm of snow in the driveway :stare:

Secondly ... as to the beer, well I will be happy to drink as much Speights as your wallet can provide. ;)

Finally ... does this "significant birthday" come with a letter from Her Majesty :p

1343774 2013-05-28 08:47:00 I too would like to say thanks Billy. I may not post much but do pop by often to read through the forums and every week Monday Laughs must be checked up on.

Thanks!
