Started about a year ago when found One Note in MS Office. This little known gem is a great E filing cabinet. Create as many folders as you like - get your invoices or whatever by PDF and fire into there with some tags and they are instantly discoverable.
Just about got rid of all my mail now and it is great.

1342376 2013-05-21 00:10:00 I've tried but some places insist on snail mailing you things. I think it's stupid and such a waste of time, email is infinitely more convenient. Chilling_Silence (9)

1342378 2013-05-21 00:52:00 While I was with Vodafooie I used to get their bills by snail, simply because they insisted I use their email address for e-bills. Like THAT would work. Yeah, right.
Now I have switched to an ISP that suits me, the only things I get via snail mail are occasional Gov't stuff, like Census, voting forms and Jury Call-ups. I see several reasons why the Gov't should be kept strictly off the net. Forever.

1342379 2013-05-21 01:31:00 For residential it could work but not for a business.
We don't even have a letter box at our new house. :)

The IRD is the worst for sending stuff in the mail. We've opted to do our GST online so they don't have to send out the manual GST forms every two months.
But what do the IRD do now? They send a letter in the mail every two months saying that it is time to go online and submit our GST return!

Hmm not so sure that it could not be done for a business? With packages like Xero both inward and outward invoices and statements can be in E format. If I was still in business I would insist that suppliers only forward E documents.

I've just recently stopped IRD sending me letters about my "Self Employment" that I am supposidly into... each time I've called and said um - I'm not self employed - the following financial year - Same thing haha. But I haven't had one for about 2 years now :)

1342383 2013-05-21 02:33:00 About the only snail mail I get is from the RES which sends out their monthly newsletter by post (and even that may get an online option soonish) - everything else is done online. pcuser42 (130)
