243698 2004-06-12 05:14:00 I got an email today that said
"This is the Postfix program at host phobo
I'm sorry to have to inform you that the message returned
below could not be delivered to one or more destinations."
This was followed by 38 messages similar to:
"<tpess@online.be>: host stego.antw.online.be[62.112.0.14] said: 550 5.1.1 User
unknown (in reply to RCPT TO command)"

All addressees I don't know of.
I have Trend AV 2004, with the firewall activated (I don't know much about this stuff) and it says my last attack was today at about a minute ago. In fact, it seems to update about every minute with a new attack report. Is this normal?
Am I under attack from someone?
And where are these emails coming from?
What can I do about it?
Any help appreciated,
andy.

243699 2004-06-12 05:20:00 You'll be getting lots of 'attacks' because people will be running port scanners trying to find open ports in which they can hack through. These are done automatically and lots of people run them, hence the chances of getting some ports scanned are quite high.

The email you are getting is not at all hacking, its just bouncing back off the server (probably something wrong with the server on the other end). Either your sending emails and they're not being recieved and coming back or you're just getting some form of spam. Either way it isn't too much to worry about.

You won't be getting hacked (probably) you're firewall should be enough to stop most hackers (unless their good and/or have a lot of time on their hands)

Don't worry about any of it... its just life on the internet really!

243701 2004-06-12 05:40:00 Cheers Dave. The emails were definitely not something I had sent, so I'll keep an eye on it all. andy (473)
243702 2004-06-12 05:42:00 Looks to me like your email address has been harvested by a spammer, probably from a website that you supplied it to, and it is now being used to spoof the origin of spam/virus messages to other people. Nothing you can do about it I think, except verify that the bounce messages you receive are not from anyone you have emailed, and delete them. It has happened to me and it is a PITA. X-(
