243651 2004-06-12 03:53:00 I bought a canon A75 digital camera recently, and after taking a few pictures downloading them to the computer and playing around with them, i now want to get them developed, so i thought i would just copy and paste them back on to the camera but, when i do the paste option is greyed out so it won't let me.

Can you actually transfer files back to your camera or do i have to buy a compact flash reader/writer?

243652 2004-06-12 03:57:00 In the My Computer page, does it appear as a "disk"? If so, you should be able to copy to that. Open the disk, then look to see what directory the images should be in. They are not likely to be at the top level. That might be the problem. Graham L (2)
243653 2004-06-12 04:03:00 Yes, i tried that but i can't copy the files whether its the root of the camera or in a folder?

Seems a bit weird for canon to create a camera that won't allow you to send files back to it?!

any other ideas?

243654 2004-06-12 04:07:00 Does it have onboard memory that is used first by default?

If so you can go into the camera menu and disable it,then with a bit of old fashioned good fortune be able to paste the files into the flash card in the camera....

243655 2004-06-12 04:10:00 nope, no onboard memmory, just the removeable 32Mb Compact Flash card that came with the camera. roofus (483)
243656 2004-06-12 04:21:00 sorted it out guys, thanks, i have to use canon's software to upload images to the card.

thanks anyway.

243657 2004-06-12 05:51:00 I had the same problems with my Creative PC-Cam 850. In the end I just plugged it into my Linux box rather than using a Windows PC and it lets me upload / write to the Memory card fine.

Im suspecting its some sort of a Windows limitation, be it intended or not?!
