243794 2004-06-12 11:47:00 And holy crap,who mentioned Big Byte?

They are a branch of noel leemings and last time i visited had budget brand fx5600's on the shelf for over 500 bucks....shocking,and when i asked for a cpu cooler, they refused to sell me one but offered to supply and fit one for 100 dollars.

Again,shocking.

A quick pricespy search showed these sites wuth the m/board
The last one says they still have stock, the others you will have to ring or email for availability

243799 2004-06-12 22:55:00 I've sent an email to everyone of those guys, rest assured.

In most cases, they merely haven't updated their website.

Does anyone in this country keep things in stock?

243800 2004-06-13 00:11:00 Ummm . . . . . . .

Actually Growly, with the low prices users expect, and the wafer-thin margins that result, "just-in-time" buying is increasingly becoming the only way to keep buyers coming but stay in business . Only high turnover items can be held in stock .

So, if you want cheap prices, be prepared to wait, otherwise go to a bigger outfit with heaps of staff, stock, and overheads . You will get fast service but pay a higher price .

I go to Tech-Pacific for some items I can get cheaper elsewhere because I want them NOW .

So, the answer to your anguished question is a "qualified" NO!

Cheers

I like the girls that do,
I respect the girls that don't
I hate the girls who say they will,
but later say they won't .

But the girl I like the most of all,
and I hope you'll agree I'm right,
is the girl that says she never does,
but looks as if she might .

*sigh*
I guess you had to be there,
but Growly's supplier dilemma somehow
brought this to my decidedly erratic mind . :|

243801 2004-06-13 00:48:00 Interesting Billy T, interesting . . . .

Now, I understand that these people get it cheap because they themselves dont actually stock it, but don't have a test copy? a random? something they didn't know was there?

I guess that I was kinda hoping they would, though I knew they wouldn't .

As for your . . . uh . . . poem . . . that's interesting too . Very interesting .

243802 2004-06-13 01:33:00 By some inexplicable feat of subconscious neural linking,
this is what your post dragged up into my mind Growly:

I like the shops that hold good stocks,
I pass on shops that don't .
I hate the shops who say they'll send,
then later they say they won't .
.
But the shop I like the most of all,
and I hope you'll agree, I'm right
is the one that says it's out of stock,
but we'll courier it overnight .

Cheers
