| 244186 | 2004-06-13 07:15:00 | Hi Can anyone advise me why suddenly I am invited to "SAVE AS" with the appropriate dialog when I press CTRL & P as usual to print. The same thing happens when attempting to print through the File menu. If I then cancel out of the "save as" dialog, the normal print dialog arrives and I can print ok from thereon in. I suspect I may have inadvertently changed an options setting by have no idea which it might have been. Using Office XP Pro and Word 2002 TIA Ron |

In the Commands menu box on the right, scroll down and click on Save As, click on the Keyboard button a little further down in the dialogue box, scroll down again and click on FileSaveAs in the right-hand box and in the Current Keys box it should be F12 . If it is not then press F12 to assign that key . Now go to FilePrint in the same dialogue box and see what shortcuts are in there . They should be Ctrl+P and Ctrl+Shift+F12 . If those are not listed then press those keys to assign them . If other keys are specified for the FileSaveAs and FilePrint click on them and click the Remove button . |

| 244191 | 2004-06-14 00:57:00 | I have no more suggestions to offer other than the standard fix for Word when things go wonky and if that does not work, then an uninstall and reinstall of Word or Office may need to be undertaken if no one else has any other suggestions . With the program closed do a search for normal . dot and rename it to normal . old . Reopen Word and see if your problem has gone . You will probably find more than one normal . dot file - these will all have to be renamed . |
