243990 2004-06-13 05:36:00 Hiya

I have this printer and it suddenly jammed. I tried to pull the paper out but they just tore. Now how do I get under the sheet feeder? At the moment the paper is not observable to the eye unless u look at the feeder .....

Would larger screwdrivers handheld help? I tried using a electric screwdriver but the screws are too tight.

Cheers

243991 2004-06-13 05:42:00 there should be removable panels around the sides and at the front, tries those. If you know how to get to the toner, that would be very good.

Screwdrivers are often unnecessary, but it may prove handy.

243992 2004-06-13 05:46:00 I don't think there is a removable panel. I taken the toner out, the paper is still not observable...

There is this thing called a jamming lever or so ... it does nothing. Normally u could gently pull the paper out after pressing the lever but not in this case...

243993 2004-06-13 06:04:00 Are there any rollers you can manually roll? Growly (6)
243994 2004-06-13 06:04:00 oh, and have you taken the paper tray out? sometime you can pull backwards from there Growly (6)
243995 2004-06-13 09:18:00 there is no paper tray the L series is a funny design by HP. Its a tray less unit .. paper is installed upright goes down and back up when its printed...

between, I have unjammed it. By using a cardboard and forced it thru the feeder pushing the little papers out .. :-)

243996 2004-06-14 03:34:00 You shouldn't need a screwdriver to remove jammed paper. You'll find it easier to dismantle a printer than to put it back again. :D

Removing the drum/toner unit is about the most that would be necessary.
