244654 2004-06-15 03:04:00 When I want to change a font in Word in Microsoft Office 97, I go to Format. Then Font. If I select Times New Roman, there will be just the letter "T" in the header box. If I select English Script, I get "E" in the header box instead of the whole name. If I select default in lower left corner I get a message <This font has no name> and there is no preview of the writing showing in the box. The same result applies if I select any other options. e.g. size, colour, itilics or regular etc. Oddly enough I can type a letter ok but I cna't make any changes. This change has only happened recently. Jaunty (4009)

244657 2004-06-15 11:55:00 Is this happening just with Times New Roman or are other fonts causing you grief as well? Could be a corrupted system font. How does TNR display in other app's

244658 2004-06-15 12:05:00 I had a issue simular to this ( office 2k (word actually)not using all installed fonts) and searched the forum to find a thread that said somthing along the lines that word will only allow the use of fonts that the printer supports, so with this in mind you could
1 check that the font is installed, go to control panel fonts applet
2 try reinstall your printer ( driver maybe currupted)
3 there is also a microsoft knowledge base article on this issue (link given in in the thread metioned earlier) so search the forum or search the microsoft site

244662 2004-06-18 11:37:00 Hi............. This problem will not allow me to make any changes to fonts. It prints OK but only in Times New Roman, size 10. Fonts in all other appliances are OK. Jaunty (4009)
