| 244649 | 2004-06-15 02:32:00 | Hi Folks, When I shut down my Windows ME computer, I often get a little dialogue box telling me that a programme (unnamed) is running and giving me a choice of waiting 20 seconds, ending task, or cancelling. When I click on "end task", the shut down process is aborted as if I had clicked "cancel" instead. I've hit ctrl-alt-delete and closed every running app down, and still this message comes up. I've run ad-aware, spybot and AVG anti-virus, and they all come up empty. There's nothing untoward in the startup menu (msconfig) either. I'm stumped! I suspect it's either a spy program or a virus. Either that or it's a quirk of ME. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of it? Joe Davies PS I'm running an Athlon 1.4 Mhz processor, if that's any help. |
