244494 2004-06-15 00:11:00 Please can any one help with this problem...
we installed max payne 2 on the computer and tried to run the game with the cd in the drive but computer kept coming up with an error that the cd timed out??
Also on some other games they run but sometimes they switch back to the desktop
The computer is a HP p4 2.8ghz with 512 ram running xp home edition ??
Have tried tweaking display settings but still does it sometimes...

Have you tried the CD in a different computer? Or have you tried a different CD-rom in that computer?

Try go to www.forumplanet.com and search for max payne forum, there'll be people who developed it in the technical side...

Are you using an old CD-drive on your PC? Some game CDs are designed for faster CD-drives and might not work on older drives. I know, I had that problem cos I upgrade my motherboard but not my drives.

This could be cause by the version of DIRECTX or video driver you are using. Get them updated.

Like Growly said, you'll find limited help from this forum. You'll need specialised Max Payne forums like GamePlanet etc

1)Its a brand new cd drive so thats out of the equation
2)Direct x9 is installed
3) Video card settings should be alright as it is using onboard graphics but ill go and update them just incase
4) Ill go check out that forum site thanks for letting me know about that one

Any other thoughts people
