| 245348 | 2004-06-17 00:41:00 | Ive just formatted and reloaded all the programmes on a friends computer but have come up with the Dial-Up Connection Box on start-up. Yes, the desktop icons come up and then, bingo, the Dial-Up Connection Box. This has never happened to me previously in numerous re-installations. The only thing I can think Ive done different is use Microsofts security update CD to install updates. Ive looked in the start-up folder and msconfig without spotting anything obvious calling up the connection. I think we can rule out spyware etc. as we havent been on the Internet since the format. The only suspect I have is the updated version of Windows Media Player installed from the update disk. Any suggestions anyone? OS Win98SE, MS Office, SystemWorks, WMP Ver9. |

| 245351 | 2004-06-17 06:14:00 | Thanks guys. Jim's suggestion seems to have done the trick. Can't understand why I haven't previously encountered the problem. Never mind, you live and learn with these things don't you. |
