245097 2004-06-16 06:22:00 I have a CyberDrive CW038D 16/12/40 Speed CD-RW drive I bought off Dick-smith about two years ago and it's been quite good (apart from the speed) though recently it has decided that if it's empty with no CD in, it won't eject, and i have to stuff a paperclip in the eject hole. (it will eject fine if there IS a CD in it)

With no CD, it will try to eject, there is a clunk noise (same as when it does eject) the tray comes out about 0.5mm then goes back in again and the light flashes.

Cyberdrive released a Firmware update for it to cure a "tray_lock_startup" or something on windows 95, but as I am running XP.....

I upgraded the firmware but still does the same thing.

Anyone got any ideas?

(I have 3 other Cyberdrive Drives on other computers and they have all been working fine.)

245098 2004-06-16 09:35:00 reckon it could be a physical or a software problem? agent_24 (4330)
