245055 2004-06-16 05:33:00 this is just to help a school out..
there's around 200 computers in the labs
and each student get's their own bit of storage space from the file server
the student's storage is mapped at drive r:/

is there a program or some method to stop students from running exe files that are stored on their r:/ drive?
so they can't play their little games and stuff

..any suggestions??

245056 2004-06-16 05:47:00 I was going to suggest Anti-Game, it has been around for years, but apparently it is no longer available, instead the parent site suggests that Workstation Policy Shield is used, but I have no knowledge about it. It may be worth looking at.

245057 2004-06-16 06:09:00 wow..WPS sure is a powerful program..
but only the .exeWatch part is needed really...

if there's a similar but maybe simplier and cheaper program that would be great...

245058 2004-06-16 06:40:00 Oh gosh yes, it does cost quite a bit more than Anti-Game, Ive just looked at the price US$1245 :( Terry Porritt (14)
245059 2004-06-16 06:46:00 Here's another; http://www.salfeld.com/ which is cheaper, but it appears to have a multiuser licence up to 20 PCs.

I'll keep looking :)
