It's hardly rocket science, and if they get it wrong - so what? thread is moved, a (sometimes not so ) gentle reminder given and life goes on ;) Each to their own though, with any php/mysql driven forum it should be trivial to make a simple hack to allow the end user to choose which format they prefer to view in: Categorised threaded, categorised flat uncategorised threaded, uncategorised flat I'd bet that such hacks already exist... Such a choice might also be achievable with heavily customised themes, and most forum software solutions have an option of allowing users to choose a preferred default theme... |

I even openly pointed to a section of my own homegrounds as an example ;) At the end of the day OCNZ and PressF1 cater for different demographics and therefore have to handle those demographics differently (there is obviously some overlap, granted) But again, can I stress the words "each to their own" I honestly, truely, do.not.care if pressF1 categorises or not, I was merely offering an experienced opinion. |

And received with the intent it was given :) Even though we have had this topic before and will get it again, as long as it's not every 2nd day, I think it's good to have a look at where your at every now and again. Not that my opinion (alone) is going to hold any sway around here but, then you can always examine you reasons for being somewhere from time to time as well. OCNZ elitist? Probably to an extent but then even I pop in from time to time so that must even it out a bit. I've actually used the search function. Good point about customisation, then it is truly each to their own. I'm sure it's possible on this forum. It's could possible on Jive pretty much out of the box, could it not? Cheers Murray P |
