246052 2004-06-19 07:17:00 Good article (channels.lockergnome.com ml) by an MCSE (MS Certified Software Engineer) who comments on how bad IE really is and why you should change to another browser.

Just the excuse you need to convert to Firefox or Opera. ;-)

246053 2004-06-19 07:27:00 Or keep IE as a backup so you can find out how to fix the latest break in Firefox :-) PaulD (232)
246054 2004-06-19 09:03:00 One word: MyIE2 (http://www.myie2.com).

Switched from IE and will never go back :D

246057 2004-06-19 10:10:00 For one I'm quite happy with IE and dont have greeblies come creeping in at all :).

For another thing, if you want to listen to Live365 using their super-duper MP3 player, then IE is needed. That was the major reason I put Xandros on ice.

Like the way the IE short cuts work in FF...

246059 2004-06-19 13:01:00 This is a pointless discussion :-)
IE is part of the system, your windows explorer/my computer is IE.
A lot of 3rd party software depends on IE to operate.
You don't have to use it as a Web browser, I use Firefox and Opera most of the time but use IE to test web sites with as most people use it.
I have nothing against IE, and it is the only browser, apart from the KDE one, that displays the fonts correctly in Linux (via Crossover ).

246060 2004-06-19 13:09:00 MyIE2 appears to use IE as a backend though, which defeats all security aspects to the reason for changing because your backend browser is still a bloody leaking ship!!! Chilling_Silence (9)
