246675 2004-06-22 00:09:00 I previously had the modem audio (initial handshake etc.) available on my speakers via the soundcard. Sometime I lost it and only have that useless squawk from the modem's transducer. How do I transfer it back to the main speakers
Thanks.
Yagi

P.S. This is a repeat of a March query.

OS is Win 2K, Modem is Motorola SM56

246677 2004-06-22 02:37:00 The SM56 modems I've seen have a little program that runs in the background when the PC is booted up.
Check the system tray for a modem icon and double-click it to open.
On one of the tabs (sorry can't remember which one!) there is an option to use the speakers and it has a test button there as well.

audio after yonks of fiddling. Very necessary to have when you suffer from a monopolistic gouging server.
