| 246983 | 2004-06-23 05:40:00 | Hello again I've almost filled my 40GB Hard Drive and now i got the chucks going on so i'm looking for a new HD. I saw a good HD in dick smith for $128 80GB Seagate Barrcuda but i'm not to sure on it. I was wondering what advice you all could give me on buy a new HD. |

| 246984 | 2004-06-23 05:57:00 | Curious. DSE usually sell Western Digital, not Seagate. They have a WD Caviar 80 GB for $128. No Seagate advertised Where did you see the Seagate?? Western Digital and Seagate are both fine. As are Maxtor. I have lost one of each in the last 4 years, so all are equal in my view ..... Presently running WD (2) Maxtor (3) and Seagate (5) here. No detectable difference apart from Seagate being so quiet you simply cant hear them. |

| 246985 | 2004-06-23 05:59:00 | I am unable to find any Seagate Barracuda hard drives on the Dick Smith website but there are Western Digital hard drives for the price that you give. Those hard drives have a 2MB buffer rather than an 8MB buffer and a 12 month rather than 36 month warranty but other than that it would still be a good buy for a second hard drive. | tommy (2826) | ||
