246927 2004-06-23 02:32:00 Well i bought a Pixelview playtv pro for $70nz and i had no problems with it.

However i've reinstalled windows, and now when i try to install the software and drivers for it. It seems no matter what i do, it says " you have no video capture device" :x

So anyway it looks like i'll have to spend a bit more and buy another one :(

My system is running 512mb ram, 128mb 9600se GFX, AMD XP2800+
I am wanting the card mainly for recording (so compression is improtant) as i already have a tv.

Also it must have a BT878P, or so I've been recomended.

I'm looking at spending around $100nz
and these seem to be the options:
TV Execl TV PCI Internal Tuner PV-BT878P+ With Remote Control NZ $65.00

Winfast TV/FM Tuner (TV2000XP expert)NZ $156.38 www.qmb.co.nz

246928 2004-06-23 02:37:00 Sounds like a driver issue to me,i wouldn't go replacing the card as yet.

as for those listed,i would recomend the winfast.

The ecs/excel are terrible cards, well the software is anyway.

246931 2004-06-23 04:50:00 As in most things,You get what you pay for,I have no idea about the Compro VideoMate but i personally wouldn't touch it because-

A-Its too cheap
B-Ive never used it
C-I've never even heard of it.

Winfast series of cards are well worth spending the extra few dollars on.

246933 2004-06-23 06:44:00 Okay, i know this sounds stupid so let me explain. I've tried everyhting with this card

Downloading new drivers
Installing drivers that came with
Installing Btwain drivers
Installing Virtual VCR
and a host of other things.

nothing works.

I may give it a few more tries yet, but it's looking like i'd need to reinstall windows to get this pig working, and seeing as i've jusat gone through hell with that, i can't be bothered at the moment.

So i'm looking around trying to decide what is worth buying.
