246759 2004-06-22 09:07:00 A friend of mine in Melbourne has been using an older version of Mozilla. He likes it but says it is a problem in that he need to use Outlook for email because he is using "Vision Systems" which depends on Outlook. Mozilla of course, as I understand it, incorporates email.

I suggested using Mozilla Firefox because then he could still use Outlook. However the other problem he has is that Mozilla does not/did not support Scalable Vector Graphics. Does Mozilla Firefox do this please ?

I have read up about Scalable..... but am still an ignoramus re whether or not it is supported in a program. As am very new to Mozilla Firebird (24 hours) I have not yet learned to even use the help index, if there is such a thing in the standard format.

246760 2004-06-22 09:27:00 Just curious. Why do you need scalable vector graphics with an email programme? Scuse my ignorence but I thought CAD, Photshop or Gimp would be more appropriate?

Is it XML based?

Mozilla does support SVG - you can read more here (www.mozilla.org). You can download a Win32 build with this feature compiled in from here (www.mozilla.org).

I can find SVG builds of Firefox for Linux, but didn't see any for Windows.

246762 2004-06-22 11:45:00 The adobe SVG plugin (www.adobe.com) works with both IE and mozilla, but with moz you have to perform an extra step.

After running the installer, browse to C:\program files\common files\adobe\svg, and copy the file "NPSVG3.dll" into the mozilla plugin directory. For firefox this is "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins".

I already had the the Adobe one and had completely forgotten about it, I think it was downloaded for Elemements but did not consider it for web browsers. Have downloaded the latest and will try it out on Firefox.
