| 246804 | 2004-06-22 22:56:00 | This is interesting as I have exactly the same problem as you Jacob4165. I was getting error numbers and in my thread the other day headed "Error 0x800CCC0D" it appeared that NAV was the culprit so I removed that and my firewall. This appeared to solve the problem for a wee while then it occurred again. So I took my computer to my technician to check and he rang me and said no fault found. Brought the puter home fired it up and the fault was still there. So I rang Paradise and they said that they were having problems with data transfer in the Hamilton area. They got me to do a couple of 'ping" tests and I had to send the results to them. This was on Monday and I got the generated message that they would reply within 4 days. Still waiting :- So it is pleasing to note that it is not only me Smithie |

I can't either, but it works for me too. Using XP Home; and prieviously with Win98. I am with Paradise, 56K internal V92 now; V90 before. Restarting always seems to fix the problem. |

| 246807 | 2004-06-23 06:32:00 | Interesting stuff - thanks to you all. Its at it again tonite. Logged on, couldn't surf, hung up and dialled Xtra, surfed happily, after ten minutes, hung up and reconnected with Paradise and no problems! Its just annoying really. Maybe I should rethink the Jetstream option. Can anyone tell me if the 1 gig ($39.95/month) option with xtra will be sufficient. I don't download movies and stuff like that - I spend an average of about 40 hours a month on line - doubt whether I've ever exceeded 60 hours (I'm on the Paradise 150 hr plan and have the xtra $5 plan for email). Mainly visit here, a bit of research for work, banking and the odd bit of software or upgrade download (boring aren't I!). I don't really see that exceeding the limit but I don't know how much actual upload/download stuff I do in terms of Mbs. Having the phone separate would be a bonus, so I'd be interested in any comments. Cheers Andy |

| 246808 | 2004-06-23 07:15:00 | Start off on the 1GB, you can always upgrade your plan later if you feel the need. Just keep close watch on your MB usage to make sure you don't get a nasty surprise first bill. The extra speed and therefore ease of dowloading more data can catch some users out. That Paradise issue seems a bit fishy, I see a nasty plot thickening. I take it you access via Telecom lines and exchanges not Paradise's ;\ Cheers Murray P |
