247137 2004-06-23 21:36:00 Hello There. I have a spy programme on my computer called 'stumbleupon' which refuses to go. spybot and Adware do not pick it up and they are updated daily but spysweeper does,- the trouble being it takes forever and a day to complete 4 hours with only 33% completed. I had to stop it as work calls.
I have written to webroot and am waiting a reply. My main questions to you is, Have any others had this problem? It it some thing I am missing?
Is there another spyware removable programme out there?
Kind regards

247142 2004-06-24 05:37:00 And your windows version is????

GF's link works for me. Also, try starting the computer in safe mode, then running Pest Patrol.

Failing that, do a search for stumbleupon.dll and note where, eg c:\windows\system32 , Then we can give you manual instructions as per the link GF gave.

247144 2004-06-24 22:45:00 Thanks for your help. I have done the safe mode thing and run pestpatrol but nothing has come up. If I copy and paste the stumbleupon file you have suggested through the search programme via the start find files and folders and then delete it manually? I wont do any thing until I hear from you. I am a bit of a novice when it comes to some technical stuff.

Kind regards

247145 2004-06-24 22:51:00 Don't worry about being a novice...we all were once. Thats why this site exists, so those with knowledge can pass it on to others.

I take it from the scan in safe mode that you have got rid of that unwanted guest.

247146 2004-06-24 23:28:00 I do feel a fool I forgot to mention that I did the safe mode but pestpatrol did not pick it up so I guess it is still there.
I think it stumbleupon is using up my memory as the circle pie in keeps getting filled up since I had stumbleupon on my computer. Am I right?
many thanks again
