247758 2004-06-25 23:04:00 Is there a programme that will let me see if my computer is running the best it can run also what I have on it including documents etc.

Maybe a lot to ask but if there isn't it would be nice if there was.

Thanks in advance.

247759 2004-06-25 23:29:00 Most operating systems include at least some built in utilities to check performance. If you're running XP then you should have eveything already installed, depending on the original setup.

To see what's running, and how much memory is being used, go ctrl+alt+delete to open Task Manager.

To see what automatically starts when you boot up, go Start/Run/type in msconfig/Ok/ and look under the Startup tab.

To access other tools go Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Information. Under the Tools menu are more untilities.

For system management tools open Control Panel/Administrative Tools.

To view documents and files go Start/Programs/Accessories/Windows Explorer.

The above is for XP Pro, but other versions of Windows all have some of the above.
