247809 2004-06-27 00:28:00 I'm having Jetstream connected tomorrow and have elected to self-install. I know Telecom won't give me any assistance.

I've got a no-name ethernet ADSL modem router(USB+Ethernet, single port). I've followed all the modem's installation instructions as well as Telecom's. It was set up as default for telecom.

Now, my problem is where to enter Telecom's DNS Servers numbers. Is it Control Panel/Network Connections/Internet Protocol, (TCP/IP)/Properties/General/Obtain DNS Server Automatically or use the following address with Primary and Secondary addresses?

247810 2004-06-27 01:14:00 The DNS service comes via your ISP, not Telecom. You don't have to use the ones specified by the ISP but it is probably sensible to do so. In the case of Xtra the primary DNS server address is 202.27.184.3 and the secondary is 202.27.184.5 stevee (1780)

XTRA is my ISP. Where do you enter them?

"TCP/IP)/Properties/General/Use the following DNS server addresses",

as primary and secondary addresses.

Can we use the DNS other than the ones specified by the ISP? For example, if you are with Slingshot, can you use some other ISP's DNS? Will it work?
