1365023 2014-01-12 08:32:00 My friend has a number of books on her Windows PC - she wants to add these to her iPad mini - they are in the correct .epub format, and even though they are copied into the iTunes Library, when she clicks on the Device sync is greyed out and nothing happens.... I assume the iPad needs to be on - or does it need to be on but "ejected" please?

1365024 2014-01-12 09:49:00 Find the file on your had drive
Drag the file Ebola file to the left hand tray in your iTunes window. This will automatically add the books to your library then sync your iPad

1365025 2014-01-12 10:13:00 Install iBooks on the iPad if it isn't already, then you can transfer via iTunes or even just email them to an account on the iPad and you will get the option to import into iBook. Alex B (15479)
1365026 2014-01-12 19:50:00 Sorry what is the Ebola file? I am an innocent abroad particularly when it comes to Apple.... I have iTunes on my Windows 7 PC and have added some books to the Library but when I click on Device, the Sync option which opens is greyed out and nothing happens. I have tried using Calibre which tells me the books have been Sent to Device BUT heaven knows where as I cannot find them, neither in the Kindle, iBooks or Kobo app on the iPad Mini.... I am rapidly increasing my vocabulary of rude words.... TIA Bryden (4161)

1365028 2014-01-12 23:34:00 Thanks for the advice.... I finally got it sorted.... I added the books to iTunes, and then clicked on the device where it appeared in the lefthand strip for that programme, so that I could see the subfolders (Music, Books etc.) and then dragged the books from the iTunes page..... I was almost running out of rude words and was going to have to coin my own....

I do appreciate the help from this forum....
