forums.pcworld.com

Looks very much like the regime that operated here until this decision.

Meanwhile they continue to operate a general discussion sub-forum:

forums.pcworld.com

Given how litigious the US can be, it seems especially sad that FFX's lawyers feel the risk here is too great to allow a community to moderate itself. Because of course when you do what they feel they need to do, you essentially kill the community. US PC World obviously values it community and manages the risk. The appear to have a small (5,6) group of moderators, for a total forum membership and activity much greater than F1.

1344190 2013-05-30 04:42:00 FWIW A few weeks ago I was in a discussion with a senior staffer at Police National HQ and he was saying he thought our Forum was one of the better ones and self modulated itself very well. :2cents: WalOne (4202)
1344191 2013-05-30 05:07:00 Well, I don't think there's "nigger or spic" bashing on the American forums.
I am sure anything that involved minorities would be censored immediately, and the poster permanently blocked.
I think that was a major reason this place is being shut down.

1344192 2013-05-30 06:09:00 You should see what is being said on at least one UK forum about the 'extremist Muslim threat', particularly since the latest 'rivers of blood' killing.
In comparison you would think this forum bland indeed.

Is it a technical forum owned and operated by a "publishing giant"?
If not, then they can't be compared.
