248147 2004-06-28 05:51:00 Hi

I bought a microsoft sidewinder joystick on trademe and recieved it this morning.

the model is x05-92626

it is usb plug and didn't come with the driver CD, i run Windows XP

But i can't seem to get it working, I tried adding it in game controllers in the Control Panel but it keeps on saying not connected.

Any help would be great

thanks

248148 2004-06-28 05:59:00 No drivers needed for xp,under game controllers scroll through the list and select sidewinder(auto-detect)

If it still doesnt work then try another usb slot.

If still no go then u either have a faulty stick or faulty usb ports/drivers.

248149 2004-06-28 06:09:00 How do I check if I've got faulty usb drivers? How do i update the usb drivers or do something like that? i have two usb slots, one is taken by a microsoft optical mouse. Thanks Big_Mountain (4623)
248150 2004-06-28 06:16:00 If there are no errors in the device manager then it should be fine, and if the mouse works then.....we can safley assume that the usb ports are fine as far as windows is concerned. metla (154)
