| 248076 | 2004-06-27 22:14:00 | Hi, Two or three years ago I started and have been helping a retired school teacher, in setting up her computer using W 98 SE and any needed programs- she is into Genealogy and to date that has not caused trouble. Her knowlege of the computer is VERY very limited but as she has a good brain, is learning well. I forwarded to her a cartoon type of very clever work wherein a black cat would purr when the cursor touched it's chest etc etc--- but on her's it will not work - she even wondered if her ISP ( Paradise in this case) was the culprit- and of course this was not so, even if Paradise has yet to correct it's Hamilton connections, which are causing irritation. I told her that she must need one of the "open with" downloads, ie powerpoint, etc. and that I would try and find out which is best. Can anybody identify the best one or two programs accordingly, please? She is down to 780 odd mb of hardrive left so cannot get all that many programs and still keep some space available effie c |
