248295 2004-06-29 05:24:00 In these dangerous days I would like to install ZoneAlarm. But my personal+home notebook is also my desktop when I am on the LAN at work.

My departmental technician looked askance when I suggested this.

Can anyone tell me what happens or what must be done to meet my goal without clobbering my access on the office LAN?

248296 2004-06-29 07:43:00 Do you know the office LAN network IP address range plus all other WAN network that you might need access to as well?

Run ZoneAlarm then click on Firewall

Select the ZONE tab
Click on ADD -> IP RANGE
Select "Trusted" zone
Put in the Starting IP Address and the Ending IP Address
Give it a name

OK you've now marked the above IP range as a trusted zone.

My trusted Office and WAN zone for example

192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255

Post here again if you need further assistance.

Cheers
Stan
