248574 2004-06-30 08:12:00 When i try to check my email i get the error:

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'Slingshot', Server: 'POP3.slingshot.co.nz', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Im not sure whats wrong with it but it happens everytime i try to recieva email in outlook express. Someone said it could me the mail servers, but they look fine to me: incoming= POP3.slingshot.co.nz and outgoing= SMTP.slingshot.co.nz. Does anyone know if this is my problem or the ISP's? I was going to call slingshot helpdesk but realised its an 0900 # **sigh**

248578 2004-06-30 08:39:00 Type the error no. 0X800ccc0E into Google and from there you can find out how to deal with the problem.

248581 2004-06-30 10:30:00 AV is running, firewall is too, but i closed them both right down and retried - nothing.
i am already connected, i normally connect to the internet before i open OE. and i have no problems visiting web sites etc.

248582 2004-06-30 21:24:00 It could still be a firewall problem causing this.

Check in Accounts/Properties/Connections that there is no tick in "Always connect to this account using" or if it is ticked that the correct dialup connection is showing in the box.

Try removing the mail account in Accounts/Properties
Setup a new one using the wizard - go to Add/Mail.
